Please support RISE's Life-saving Work

Hello, friends. Friday is the last day of our “A Community Thrives” fundraising event sponsored by the Gannett Foundation., We have received donations ranging from $5 to $300, and we deeply appreciate every one of them and the community support they represent.

We have raised $1,040 of our $5,000 goal, and we know we can raise more before the deadline at Noon on Friday,

We make the most of your money!

  • Rent: $100./month
(Seriously!!! We found a great space!)

  • Staff (including FICA): $715/month
(This is only 13.33 hours per week, and we’d like to at least double that)

  • Training a sex ed facilitator: $350/facilitator/age level
(The levels are kindergarten-6th grade, 10th-12th, and young adult/adult/older adult)

  • Developing inclusive brochures: $200-$600/brohure
(Our current project is an inclusive STI and pregnancy prevention brochure that is fully inclusive of ability, identity, orientation, and relationship type and status.)

  • Printing inclusive brochures: $145-$190/500 copies
(We make our brochures available for others to print for free and we hand them out at our own and at partners’ events.)

  • Developing customized educational programming: $100-$600/program

  • Delivering educational programming: $30/hour
(Our standard is 2 facilitators in any group due to the sensitive nature of our topics. All folx at RISE make the same wage—$15/hour—when it can be offered.)

Who we work with and how we do the work

Our constituents include K-12 students as well as their guardians. We also facilitate groups with folx working to overcome substance use disorders, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, foster youth, unhomed people, and community organizations. We partner with a variety of local, state, and national organizations that strive to ensure trauma-informed approaches, inclusive practices, and comprehensive sexuality education become the standard of service across the board.

From its inception RISE has intentionally fostered diverse leadertship and has sought to ensure voices of all folx are at the table. This includes diversity in color, faith, orientation, education, identity, socioeconomic status, relationship status, profession, and family situation, and life experience. Our culture fosters trust and accountability.

Be a part of something important!

To be part of this life-saving work, please make a generous (that’s relative term—no pressure) donation to RISE’s “A Community Thrives” crowdfunding campaign before noon on Friday, Aug. 13.

If you miss the cut-off, no worries. You can make a donation any time through the donate button on our facebook page or on our website.
