Stellar Sex Ed

Stellar Sex Ed engages adult or high school participants in an expansive exploration of our inner and outer space. Free of judgment, Stellar Sex Ed dismantles stigma and invites honest, compassionate curiosity about bodies, identities, and relationships. Welcome to a new age of sexuality education!

This facilitator training will share how and why the curriculum came about as well as strategies for guiding a well-rounded exploration of whole people, especially when cultural norms might challenge scientific and psychological reality. This training also incorporates Accessible Sex Ed concepts.

 

Accessible Sex Ed Training for Facilitators

This workshop is designed for sex ed and family life educators who want to make their programs more accessible to people with a variety of disabilities, particularly autistic people and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Adding these skills to your toolbox makes affirming, inclusive education more accessible for all participants..

“Accessible Sex Ed” also covers how to talk with caregivers about the importance of complete, fact-based education for all people, especially neurodiverse folx.

Supplemental Sexuality Education Facilitator Training

RISE sometimes works with other organizations to offer supplemental training on teaching methods and content.

Trauma-informed Care Train-the-trainer Workshops

Participants (who must already have completed a Trauma-informed Care workshop) will learn how to educate others about how trauma affects people, what trauma-informed care is, how to create a safe space for those we serve, and how to avoid practices that retraumatize. This workshop can help build capacity for trauma-informed care by allowing organizations to offer peer-led professional education and development regularly.

 

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education Facilitator Training

Rise can coordinate Our Whole Lives facilitator training in one of three levels:

  • Kindergarten through 6th grade (covers two developmental ranges)

  • 7th through 12th grade (covers two developmental ranges)

  • Adult (covers three developmental ranges)

These workshops typically run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.

RISE can coordinate Our Whole Lives facilitator training for one or more organizations that are interested in having their staff certified as trainers. We also are happy to act as consultants/mentors for new facilitators.
