Whether you are in the greater Tri-Cities area or farther afield, you or your youth can attend these real-time, online workshops with trained sexuality educators this fall. Peer Educator Program
for 9-12 graders
Rising 9- through 12-grade students in the greater Tri-Cities, TN, area, you are invited to get involved with RISE: Healthy for Life's new peer sexuality educator program. This youth-led program includes sexuality education for participants as well as opportunities to educate peers and others in the community, advocate for reproductive and sexual healthy as well as comprehensive sexuality education, and create one or more service projects. Guardians as
Sexuality Educators
Ten sessions invite parents and caregivers to explore their role as the primary sexuality educators of their elementary through teen age children. The information and attitudes that adults share with their children—intentionally or by default—carry extraordinary power. It is a power that many adults struggle to wield effectively and confidently. Often, their own experiences, perspectives, and worries get in the way. These sessions invite parents and caregivers to find support and courage with one another. Relationships, Responsibility, and Respect for 7-9 graders
Students will explore the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships of all kinds as well as consent, media literacy, and bystander intervention. After these four sessions students should have an understanding of consent, strategies for nurturing healthy relationships and addressing unhealthy behaviors. a better understanding of the role media plays in body image and cultural norms re: gender, sex, and sexuality, and a toolbox for bystander intervention.
