Rising 9- through 12-grade students in the greater Tri-Cities, TN, area…
… you are invited to join RISE: Healthy for Life's new peer sexuality educator program. Register to attend this interest meeting (by Aug. 10 if possible) to share your ideas and find out more about what is involved. We will send out a Zoom link to registrants before the meeting. Participation in this meeting and the peer sexuality educators program is free.
Peer sexuality educators learn about maturing bodies, consent, pregnancy and STI prevention, sexual orientation, gender identity, healthy and unhealthy relationships of all kinds, local resources, and media literacy.
Peer sexuality educators help raise awareness of social issues, provide accurate information, and help their friends and classmates develop knowledge and skills to change culture.
Peer sexuality educators advocate for positive change with legislators, provide information at events, and work together to create one or more public service projects.
Besides hanging out with other great folx who think this is important, peer educators get a t-shirt, cash incentives, leadership experience, and volunteer hours.
This program is overseen by trained, background checked sexuality education facilitators, but it is youth led, so participants will have a large role in determining what topics they cover and what projects they take on.
