Please take action!

It can be hard to stay on top of helpful and harmful legislation in Tennessee. House members can submit up to 15 bills per session, and Senators can submit an unlimited number of bills. Legislators have told us even they have a hard time keeping up with the hundreds of bills proposed each session. However, RISE can help! RISE shares information about bills related to sexual and reproductive health, sex ed, and civil rights as they relate to these and sex and gender on Instagram (@risehfl) and Facebook (@Rise.HealthyforLife).

It also can be disheartening to contact legislators and have harmful bills pass or helpful bills fail. Please don’t be discouraged, though. No matter how our legislators vote, it is important that they hear diverse perspectives.

Things are happening fast now—please visit these pages often and contact your legislators to let them know what is important to you!

Here are some highlights:

Marriage already exists in Tennessee, and if one man and one woman want to make a lifetime commitment to each other and to God, they already can.
