To celebrate this exciting partnership, RISE and the Pride Community Center invite the public to a Community Open House on Sundy, October 26 from 5-7 p.m., where neighbors, friends, and allies can tour the shared facility, learn more about upcoming programs, and enjoy light refreshments. Come in costume if that’s your jam! The space is located in Executive Park South, 2700 S Roan St, Ste 300-B, in Johnson City. All are welcome.

Since September 15, both organizations have been sharing a welcoming, affirming space where education, advocacy, and connection can flourish.

“RISE and the PCC share a deep commitment to creating spaces where every person feels safe, seen, and supported,” said Cindi Huss, executive director of RISE. “This partnership allows both of our organizations to better serve the Appalachian Highlands — not only by sharing physical space, but by sharing purpose and heart.”

The Pride Community Center of the Tri-Cities offers a hub for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to gather, learn, and celebrate diversity. RISE: Healthy for Life provides responsible, inclusive, trauma-responsive sexual health education for youth, guardians, and professionals across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Together, the two organizations are modeling what community care looks like — collaboration over competition, and shared strength over isolation.
