9-12 Grade Peer Sex Educator Program About to Begin!

On Monday, Aug. 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. we will hold an interest meeting for our new Peer Sex Educator program for 9-12 grade students. This meeting (and the entire program) is free and open to all in 9-12 grade. If you or a youth you know are interested in signing up for this program, please register (or pass the registration information on to them) as soon as possible before Monday’s meeting.

Meetings will be virtual this year, the incentives will be generous, and we expect participants will have a lot of fun!

This program is youth-led, so youth will choose and create a public service project as well as determine many of the topics we cover.

Facilitators will be Jessie Birkeland of RISE, an OWL-certified sexuality educator for 7-12 grade and all adult levels, and Jilian Reece, executive director of the Carter County Drug Prevention Coalition. Cindi Huss, RISE’s managing director and an OWL-certified sexuality educator for all levels from kindergarten through older adult, also will be at the interest meeting to explain the program and its incentives.
