It is important that responsible, inclusive sex ed is accessible to everyone, so we do not formally charge for these programs. Fair market value is $225 per participant. If your organization would like to contribute to RISE's programming, we welcome that and can provide an invoice if required. If you or your organization cannot donate toward these classes, that's cool, too. Please sign up anyhow.

This training will enable facilitators to provide Stellar Sex Ed to middle- and high-school youth and adults AND to "stellarize" other curricula so it is more affirming and trauma-informed while adhering to local and state restrictions.

Facilitator training will cover curriculum content as well as facilitation best practices and tips for making any sex ed more accessible to all neurotypes, genders, colors, abilities, and orientations. Electronic access to the curriculum is included for trainees who complete the course successfully.

*****

Stellar Sex Ed engages participants in an expansive exploration of their inner and outer space. It fundamentally changes the way we facilitate sexuality education. Free of judgment, Stellar Sex Ed dismantles stigma and invites honest, compassionate curiosity about bodies, identities, and relationships.

This facilitator training will share how and why the curriculum developed as well as strategies for guiding a well-rounded exploration of whole people, especially when cultural norms might challenge scientific and psychological reality.

Stellar Sex Ed is intentionally trauma informed, antioppressive, and accessible to people with various learning styles and abilities. In addition, Stellar Sex Ed facilitator training can help facilitators of any curriculum, even in strictly regulated Tennessee public schools, create a more trauma-informed, inclusive experience for students.

  • Learn how to engage participants' imagination and encourage exploration and curiosity more actively.

  • Find out what curriculum, facilitator, and administration characteristics enhance racial equity in sex ed--and why that is important.

  • Learn to think about human inner and outer space from new perspectives, free from shame and fear tactics.

RISE recommends at least two facilitators work together on any workshop or class, so if your organization is considering sending one facilitator trainee, please consider sending two or collaborating with another organization. Let us know at RISE if you might need cofacilitators—we love collaborating!

This program is funded in great part by Ballad Health's Community Health Improvement (CHI) program. CHI partners with organizations in Northeast TN and Southwest VA to improve health outcomes for children and families.
